The Grand Canyon is nothing but a very big hole in the ground.
The Grand Canyon is a steep-sided canyon carved by the Colorado River in the state of Arizona in the United States.
Most of the Grand Canyon lies within Grand Canyon National Park and is managed by the National Park Service, the Hualapai Tribal Nation and the Havasupai Tribe.

The Ancestral Puebloans were a Native American culture centered on the present-day Four Corners area of the United States. They were the first people known to live in the Grand Canyon area.
In 1540, a small group of Spanish soldiers, traveled to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon between Desert View and Moran Point. A third soldier descended some one third of the way into the Canyon until they were forced to return because of lack of water. In their report, they noted that some rocks in the Canyon were “Bigger than the great tower of Seville.”
Popular attraction in is Grand Canyon Skywalk, a horseshoe-shaped glass walkway that is 4,000 feet above the canyon floor in the Grand Canyon West area of the main canyon. Since opening in 2007, about 400,000 visitors have walked the Grand Canyon Skywalk each year.
Though widely considered one of the world’s most spectacular canyons, the Grand Canyon is neither the world’s longest or deepest gorge.

These relatively unaltered sediments stopped accumulating about 230 million years ago, and are older than the dinosaurs. Though no dinosaur bones have ever been found in the park, geologically recent fossils, including 11,000-year-old sloth bones, have been found in canyon caves. Many marine fossils and animal tracks also appear in the National Park’s rock layers.
Rattlesnake species found near Grand Canyon, the color of the snakes is pink that matches with the local rocks. The Grand Canyon pink rattlesnake is the most common snake in the park, startling hikers as it suns itself on rocks and sandy trails, searching for lizards to eat.
John Wesley Powell, who charted the Colorado River’s course in 1891 and 1892 in a wooden boat, was the first to consistently use the name “Grand Canyon.”
