The Great Wall of China is one of the oldest and largest monuments in humans creativity. The main reason for the Great wall construction was to protect the territory from enemy attack.

1. Total length of Great Wall of China is 21,196.18 km, in which 10% of wall has been ruined. It’s almost 1/2 of Earth’s circumference.

2. This Wall is more than 2,300 years old. It is considered as the oldest creations after the Great Pyramid of Giza.

3. Great Wall is built across following municipalities: Liaoning, Hebei, Tianjin, Beijing, Inner Mongolia, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Ningxia, Gansu.

4. The place Badaling is the most visited section. It is estimated that per day visitors step in to visit the place.

14. The Great Wall of China is the longest human made architecture.

15. The highest elevation point is the Huanglouyuan with 1,439.3 meters, while the lowest point is at Laolongtou, just above the sea level.

16. It is estimated that more than 1,000, 000 laborers were part of this construction, including civilians, soldiers, and convicts.

They also suggested that these place has to be well maintained to avoid the crack on the wall.

21. The wall work activities was a special punishment for convicted criminals during the Qin (221 — 207BC) and Han (202BC — 220AD) Dynasties.

22. During the wall work around 400,000 builders were died and some are said to be buried in the long wall.
