Chail Cricket Ground – World highest cricket ground

The Chail cricket stadium Of Himachal Pradesh is the highest cricket ground in the world.

1893 after leveling a hilltop, this cricket pitch is 2444 meters above sea level. Built by Maharaja of Patiala Bhupinder Singh, who developed Chail as his summer capital, the ground was used to play friendly matches by him. It was later transferred to the military school.

Chail is a hill station, 49 km from Shimla in Himachal Pradesh.

The place is surrounded by the forests of chir pine and gigantic deodars. Shimla and Kasauli can also be viewed at night from here. Chail is pleasant in summers and cold in winter. Average annual rainfall is about 150 mm.
